VIP status!

This past weekend Brad and I drove out to Palm Springs to meet up with one of his college friends, and his parents. We went to the Tennis Tournament out there which is right next to Brad's parents house in Indian Wells. We got total VIP status, we got to borrow his dads Mercedes, got Valet Parking, and even got to sit in a box! It was scorching hot, and Andy Roddick didn't play so well.. but all in all it was an amazing weekend!

*Family, my mom is in town for 3 weeks.. its so nice having her here, she still has not had time to make her yummy pancakes yet! My new nephew, he is adorable, and I will miss him when they move!
*Rascal Flatts new song.. "Here comes Goodbye"

"We Still Remember"

In Memory of those who lost their lives in the USU crash victims.

Video Courtesy of KSL.com

"A tiny question mark on a shaft of wheat, initials on a saddle, a farmer's brand stamped in the dirt, shadows of grease under the fingernails of a hard worker, a wedding ring, a Band-Aid, jersey No. 17, a team of horses and a prize hog were the finishing touches that gave the 20-foot-long memorial individual significance.

Each item, carefully sculpted into the intricate design of one of nine bronze panels, represents each man who lost his life when a van carrying eight Utah State University students and their instructor left the roadway and rolled down an embankment north of Brigham City on Sept. 26, 2005."

I still remember it like it was yesturday.. I had just gotten to work early on Sept 25th, my mom called me with a different sound to her voice. She had asked if there someone else with me at work yet. She wanted to be sure that someone was close by so they could give me a hug. No one was there yet, but she started to cry.. immediately I could tell something was horribly wrong. She said there was an accident and that someone very dear to me was in it. I asked her who it was, and it was my close high school friend Justin Huggins. I immediately went home as my mom finished telling me that there were eleven others in the crash. I only recognized the name of two of them, but it hit me so hard. I started receiving phone calls from all my close friends, Brooke Richards and Jenn Scott. I felt so alone being so far away and not having anyone around me know what I was going through. I had talked it over with my parents in deciding if it was important for me to come home. I wanted to be sure that I was able to say goodbye and be there to comfort everyone.. and also be comforted. I was so grateful I was able to go home and attend his special funeral. It was everything he would have wanted. All his friends/teammates were the pallbearers and wore their baseball uniforms. It was so detailed and perfect, just like Justin was.

Now his mom has made a blog about memories of his, I love reading it everyday and remembering this special person that will never be forgotten.

Its getting warm outside!!

I'm having a wonderful week.. its warm outside, i have a new addition to the family, my mom is in town, and I'm in love!

Pictures of my new favorite person!

So it took me a little while to get excited about my sister having a baby boy, for one I would rather it be a girl personally.. and two I'm going to have to hear the little one crying at night. Until last night.. then when I held him in my hands I fell in love with him! He is so little and tiny, and just so adorable!! I'm the happiest auntie!

I Heart Rascal Flatts

I will admit, I am part of the Rascal Flatts fan club! I have been a fan since high school and absolutely love them! They were my very first concert, which I went to with my good friend Leah I wanted to be sure that I got the best seats possible, so I became a fan.. and got great seats. So this year, I made Brad a CD with all the songs so he could memorize them for the concert. It was such a great time, we had great seats again and even saw a propsoal happen! I thought it was adorable.. check out the video!! Yes.. that is me screaming! How would it be!!

Soundtrack of my life..

Today I was listening to some old random music, and realized all of them reminded me of something in my past. So I decided to make a soundtrack of my life.

  • Expose - I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me - I remember this song playing on our drive home from taking my oldest brother Shane to the MTC. I was so sad.. and this song says it all - not really.. its more of a long song, but when I was 5 my brother was my favorite.
  • Anything Barry White, reminds me of my Mom and the show Alley McBeal. My mom loves to dance to all his songs. His voice is hot.. so low!
  • Glycerine - Bush- one of my all time favorite songs. Reminds me of the NMDW club. (Lance, David, Cory, Casey, and Jason)
  • Britney Spears - Reminds me of my childhood best friend Brooke, we used to make up a dance to this song, and do it in front of my window at night.. you could see yourself dancing! ha!
  • AC/DC - Thunderstruck - Reminds me of all the High School Football games.
  • Kenny Chesney - She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy - reminds  me of the Box Elder County Rodeo.. when Wes Shaffer would drive around in his tractor plowing the dirt, and at the end start dancing in the middle of the arena.
  • Jimmy Buffett - Trip Around the Sun - Reminds me of my dad. He sent this song to me on my Birthday.. he has always loved Jimmy Buffett.
  • Led Zeppelin-Stairway to Heaven - I will always despise this song. For one.. its the longest song on earth. Two.. I swear everytime in middle school dances the dorkiest boy would ask you to dance, mind you to the longest song. The most awkward part is when it starts to pick up, you can't slow dance anymore.
  • Kenny Chesney - Me and You - Reminds me of Brooke and Zane Freeze's Wedding. Its perfect for a wedding song, and I will probably have it played at my wedding someday.
  • Garth Brooks - Shameless - My Ex Boyfriend and Redneck Jesse. He now lives in a trailer park.. but nonetheless.
  • Greg Laswell - And Then You - Reminds me of my twin Melissa Lundquist. I think she knows why. :)
  • Technotronic - Move This - Reminds me of Trudy Petersen - We would always dance to this song on my tramp waaaaay back when!
  • Bone Thugs and Harmony - Ghetto Cowboy - Spring Break in Saint George.. Shout out to Ashley Olsen!
  • Allison Kraus - The Smile On your Face - Was our Junior Prom song, and was also sung at our final Senior Assembly.
  • Heavy D & The Boyz- Now That We Found Love- One of the best dance songs, reminds me of my old roommate and good friend Jenn Draeger. That girl can shake her booty to this song!
  • Kenny Chensey - Who You'd Be Today - Reminds me of my friend Justin Huggins who passed away. Everytime I hear it I cry. I remember going to his grave a few days after his funeral and his mom was there listening to the song.
  • Rascal Flatts- Bless The Broken Road - Story of all my relationships.
  • Frou Frou - Let Go - A song from my favorite movie, also a great makeout song.. don't ask me why. I just love it!
  • Corinne Bailey Rae - Like A Star - Anytime I'm stressed I play this song. It is so relaxing, its one of those songs that just make you sigh. Such a good love song too.
  • Mazzy Star - Fade Into You - Is my all time favorite song. Period. Has always been, will always be. Her voice is so different, and the words are just awesome.
  • David Gray - This Years Love - Another one of my all time favorite songs.

Tough times = needing to be more creative!

So my closet is looking super bare right now.. for one I am downsizing my closet and getting rid of all my in-modest clothes. Secondly the economy sucks right now and I've sworn to not spend money on clothes. The one thing if I do find something amazing and affordable that I will buy is accessories. They can always spice up any old outfit. I have had to be super creative with making old outfits new, and not spending any money on clothes. Anyways.. just wanted to vent. :)

Would you wear split-toe shoes?

Sarah Jessica Parker was recently spotted wearing these.. it reminds me of the toe socks I wore in middle school. That really can't be comfortable.
