One of my many dream bathrooms

My new favorite Blog
If you get bored.. read this blog. Hilarious in a time when money is tough. :)
Are you or someone you love dating a banker? If so, Dating A Banker Anonymous (DABA) is here to support you through these difficult times. DABA is a safe place where women can come together – free from the scrutiny of feminists– and share their tearful tales of how the mortgage meltdown has affected their relationships.
DABA Girls was started by two best friends whose relationships tanked with the economy. Not knowing what else to do, they did what frustrated but articulate girls have done since the beginning of time - they started a blog. So if your monthly Bergdorf’s allowance has been halved and bottle service has all but disappeared from your life, lighten your heart with laughter and spend some time on Dating A Banker Anonymous.

I love getting inspired!
I always love learning about what inspires people, and the things they use to be inspired. A girl here at my work was telling me all about her crazy weekend. How her and her friends drank so much beer they created a pyramid of beer cans. Not that that is that important to my story.. but I got thinking with all those cans what a waste! Not that I'm the "green-est" person, but I do try and recycle and do my part for the earth. So I found this cool house called the Beer Can House.

Retired railroad worker John Milkovisch, began adding to his home in 1968 using pieces of brass, marbles, rocks and buttons. Next came beer cans that were flattened and used for aluminum siding. The cans quickly became his medium and the final product is what you see below.
"This curtain idea is just one of those dreams in the back of my noodle," he once explained.
John and his wife, Mary, have both passed away and thanks to The Orange Show Foundation, a non-profit organization founded to preserve, present, promote and popularize the artistic expressions of ordinary people, the Beer Can House is still a treasure to be seen in Houston.

How to get picked up on in a gym.
This past weekend while I was at the gym with my boo, I was minding my own business struting my stuff on the elliptical. I don't even think I had make up on, and I was more than likely sweating. Very attractive I might add. I had my InTouch magazine with me just in case I got super bored watching VH1 reality shows. Then all the sudden a guy comes up to the Eliptical next to me, and leans over to get my attention.
He asks "Can I read this"?

I was a lil bugged out.. and said.. "Ugh I guess so, as long as you bring it back!"
Douche: "Actually, I just thought you were cute, and wanted to come say hi."
L: "Well thank you, but thats my boyfriend over there.. (pointing to the biggest guy in the gym, which of course is Brad) "
Then he comes up with a line to redeem himself..
D: "Thats okay, my boyfriend is right over there too."
REALLY? Who honestly picks up on people at the gym? I admit every now and then (before I had a boyfriend) ;) I would check guys out randomly. But I would never try and flirt or hit on them. Also.. Who gets all pretty to go to the gym?! As I was walking out one day, a girl had her hair did all curly, make up on, and a cute lil outfit. I admit, I still try and wear a cute outfit to the gym.. but I rarely wear makeup and my hair is always up in a ponytail. The gym is the last place I want to impress someone.
So I decided to google "How to get picked up on in a gym" I cannot believe that I found this article..
Gyms are incredibly sociable places. They're packed full of people keen to share and receive good advice, chat while they wait for an exercise class, or grab a quick smoothie when they've finished their work out. Whether you're looking for friends, fun or romance, there are few quicker ways of getting to know girls than regular trips to the gym.
So, how do you go about it?
Well, the main thing to remember is that you're actually there to exercise. I'm serious. And there are three very good reasons why this is so:
Firstly, tone up those abs a bit and you'll soon find yourself looking and feeling a whole lot better. Good news for you, and much more attractive to her.
Secondly, most gyms have a swarm of sleazy guys who never do any exercise. Slack off too much and the girls will assume you're only there to ogle them – which doesn't do much for your chances!
And thirdly, if you know what you're doing, you can strike up a conversation by offering a girl good advice.
Okay, so you've familiarized yourself with the running machines and you know your way to the pool – what now?
Bear in mind that the gym is not a pick up joint. Yes, loads of the women are single, but they're not there to get chatted up – they're there to keep themselves fit. If they catch you drooling at them in the mirror they're going to steer well clear.
Forget about finding a date for the moment, and think about making new friends. Greet the staff with a smile, chat to other guys while you wait for the weights, make pleasant conversation with anyone who offers; get yourself known as a really decent guy, and before you know it people will be clamouring to set you up on blind dates with their mates.
Keep yourself presentable. You're going to get sweaty, there's no avoiding that, but make sure you deodorise beforehand and shower thoroughly afterwards. No matter how proud you are of your new pecs, steer clear of the skin tight clothes, and stick to appropriate gym gear.
When you do talk to cute girls, start off slowly. Say hi if you're on the machine next to them. Offer advice if they need it, but move away once it's taken. If you're getting more water, offer to fetch for them, too. But remember that they're there to work out, so don't keep distracting them unless it's clear that they want you to.
Remember, women like nice guys. You're smart, you're considerate, you've got a cute smile. Take things slowly, be patient, be polite and before you know it you'll find yourself sitting in the juice bar (well, it is a gym!) getting to know a girl better over a post work out pineapple smoothie.
Moral of the story, if you want to get hit on at the gym.. be sure and take the latest Intouch magazine.

A New Years to Remember
A bunch of my close friends from my church got together this year to celebrate New Years. We rented a cabin in Big Bear and had such a great time. We got up there around 5pm, the first thing we did was get in the hot tub! It was so awesome sitting there with snow around us. When everyone else arrived we decided to have a dance party around 9pm.. but by the time it was 11pm we were all exhausted. But the countdown still went on, and even a lil new years kiss happened. Sorry.. I don't kiss and tell. :)
I'm so grateful to everyone who helped plan this trip it was so much fun and spent with some of my favorite people! ILY!!
The last 2 weeks in 4 paragraphs.

I realized its been FOREVER since I have blogged.. so here is a lil catch up to my life the past 2 weeks. Christmas Eve I flew out to Utah to see the family for Christmas. We had our lil Christmas party that afternoon and then at night got snowed in. On Christmas I had to wait until the afternoon to open up my presents because we had to drive to Salt Lake to pick up my sister Vangie and Jason. That night when we got home we just relaxed and played games. Friday was a day of pampering, got our hair did, massages.. it was great! Saturday we had our Fielding Friends Christmas Breakfast, and also my sister's Baby Shower.
This next part deserves a paragraph of it's own. As I was helping make eggs and bacon which I ended up burning due to the next part of this story... Someone came up behind me like Brad does, and it disgusted me at first because I thought it was my brother in law. Little did I know Brad Arave was there to surprise me! Supposedly my whole family knew, and some of my friends. Which I have to give props to you all because its hard to keep a secret from me. Anyways I was so surprised, and got butterflies I felt like I should have been in a movie. I think I even got a lil teary eyed.. (don't tell Brad that). So Brad got to meet all my family and friends pretty much all the women in our town. He always has been a ladies man. :)
The rest of the week went by really fast since I had my favorite person there. We went shopping, sledding, watched movies, sat by the fire, and kept each other warm. Brad even fed the cows.. he was very excited. I wish I had a picture to show his excited face!
We even got a new couch, which is also a BIG deal because we have had the same couch for 30 years. It was brown, with fence/floral print. Very Napoleon Dynamite. So it was a much needed gift for the family. I stayed out until Tuesday night, it was sad to leave.. but its good to be back in California!
